In Practice Poise, you are guided by focused curriculum and personalized 1:1 instruction. The curriculum creates momentum. The individual attention propels progress. You develop a practice that is uniquely yours.

We define poise as a ready-for-any-eventuality-type-of-grace. And practice is the learned skill of consistent engagement coupled with curiosity, wonder and willingness.

With Practice Poise, you build balance in your body through movement practices. These practices are a blend of yoga-asana, somatics, functional movement, and bodywork science.

You'll learn functional breathing to calibrate your nervous system. This creates inner space for awareness, responsiveness.

Movement practices combined with functional breathing, change your way of being. You develop an inner clarity that is calming, inner knowing that's expansive, and inner confidence that is liberating.

Meet Your Guide.

Hi, I'm Alison. For over 20 years, I've been immersed in the study of movement, embodiment, and awareness. My education is rooted in the yoga tradition, meditation, and breathwork with branches into myofascial studies, functional anatomy, neurocience, polyvagal theory, somatics, and more.

I've worked with hundreds of clients on a wide array of physical concerns from lower back pain to chronic migraines to autoimmune conditions. Clients range from high-powered MDs to dynamic restauranteurs to mission-driven entrepreneurs. Regardless of industry, age or background, they share common traits: They give abundantly, lead courageously and love what they do. They come to me because they want to stay strong and supple inside and out.

15 years of working with these clients has taught me this: Consistency is key. But cutting that groove, finding the rhythm so consistency is easeful and enjoyable - that's the tricky part. It asks for a tried and true method, a well-marked map, and nimble guide. That's what you get with Practice Poise. A method, map, and guide for exploring your body/mind/spirit.
